Waste management company fined £2.48 million after death of employee
HSE prosecuted a waste management company following the death of an employee at its site in Bradford. The company entered a guilty plea to an offence of s. 2(1) of HSWA 1974 and was fined £2.48 million.
Transport operator issued with temporary curtailment of its operating licence by Traffic Commissioner
At a public inquiry held by the Office of the Traffic Commissioner, an operator of public service vehicles (PSV) received a temporary curtailment of its licence after not meeting the standards expected of a PSV operator.


Volume promotion restrictions on foods high in fat, salt and sugar in force
From 1 October 2025, HFSS volume promotion restrictions mean that certain businesses cannot offer promotions such as ‘buy one get one free’ or ‘3 for 2’ on unhealthy foods (including chocolate, crisps, pizza, fizzy drinks, certain savour snacks etc).
