Don’t forget…
Our information hubs are regularly updated to reflect regulatory changes and can be viewed whenever you need to.
- Consumer Hub – The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act (DMCCA) is the biggest shift in consumer legislation facing the retail sector in recent times. Keep up to date on all the changes on our new hub. View our Consumer Hub here
- Safety & Compliance Hub – With an increasing regulatory burden and an elevated risk of significant civil and criminal penalties, we will help you keep pace with new developments in the area. View our Safety & Compliance Hub
Consumer: HFSS brand advertising exemption
New exemption regulations have been published in light of upcoming TV, online and on-demand advertising restrictions for foods high in fat, salt and sugar by allowing brands to advertise foods provided they are not identifiably ‘less healthy’. The exemption will also see the Advertising Standards Authority implement further guidance on how it intends to enforce the new HFSS advert restrictions.
HSE Prosecution: Two companies fined for failure to notify HSE
Two laboratory companies have been prosecuted and fined for failing to notify HSE prior to the use of high hazard infectious organisms. Use of these substances is highly controlled by the COSHH regulations and requires HSE notification and acknowledgement before use.
Environment: Extended Producer Responsibility for Packaging invoices
Businesses considered large producers under the Extended Producer Responsibility for packaging scheme (pEPR) will receive the first invoices under the scheme on 1 October 2025. New guidance has been published by PackUK.
