Gas company fined £560,000 after hydrocarbon release
A large offshore gas company has been prosecuted by HSE and subsequently fined £560,000 after a significant release of hydrocarbon fluids from an offshore platform.
ASA publishes guidance on HFSS
On 4 December 2025, the Advertising Standards Authority published its advertising guidance on the incoming advertising restrictions for ‘less healthy’ foods. The new restrictions, which come into force on 5 January 2026, will prohibit advertisers and brands from showing less healthy foods on TV between certain times, and from paying for online advertisements.


Construction firm and roofing contractor fined over £800,000 after employee suffered life-changing injuries
HSE has prosecuted a construction company and a roofing contractor following an incident where an employee was left with life-changing injuries. Both companies pleaded guilty to breaches under Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and issued a combined fine of over £800,000.
