Tuesday 20th February 2024

Gordons has advised automotive retailer D.M. Keith on its acquisition of Colin Appleyard, one of the most successful and largest Suzuki dealer groups in the UK.

This latest acquisition sees the Leeds-headquartered family-owned company grow to 19 businesses across 14 sites and its anticipated 2024 turnover is to be in excess of £300m.

Founded in 1971, Colin Appleyard represents Suzuki in Bradford, Keighley, Ashton-Under-Lyne and Huddersfield.

A team from Gordons led by corporate partner Duncan Firman, head of banking and partner Ben Roden, and James Kimberley, commercial property partner, advised D.M. Keith on the deal.

Commenting on the acquisition, Duncan Firman said, “We are very pleased to have advised D.M. Keith on its latest acquisition of Colin Appleyard, one of the major Suzuki dealership groups in West Yorkshire.

“D.M. Keith is a family company and this new acquisition will be a great fit and see it further expand its footprint across the Yorkshire and the North of England.   We are sure it will only strengthen its position and enable further growth and successes.  This acquisition represents the third we have advised our longstanding client on in recent years, following the purchase of Westgate Motors and Ringways Group.”
