Gordons partners with Lifted Ventures for a second year
Wednesday 11th June 2025
Gordons is pleased to announce the renewal of our strategic partnership with female-founded investment network Lifted Ventures in order to support and champion female-led start-ups.
Lifted Ventures are also launching their collaboration with RBC Brewin Dolphin.
These partnerships are designed to catalyse investment into women-led businesses and to grow the number of women investors seeking early-stage funding.
In addition to supporting women founders, the partnership places a strong emphasis on encouraging and equipping more women to become active angel investors, helping to reshape the investment landscape from both sides of the table.
Through this collaboration, female entrepreneurs will benefit from expert legal, wealth management and strategic investment guidance, while aspiring women investors will gain access to educational tools, professional networks, and opportunities to deploy capital into high-potential women-led startups.
The partnership will launch a series of national events, workshops and pitch opportunities throughout 2025, designed to connect women founders with aligned investors, and provide practical support to those entering the investment space for the first time.
Lifted Ventures was founded in 2023 by Helen Oldham and Jordan Dargue, who were joint leaders of the NorthInvest angel network and co-founders of both Fund Her North and Women Angels of the North.
The network has created a diverse investment community passionate about supporting female founders through capital, expertise and mentorship.
Gordons was appointed as legal partner by Lifted Ventures in April 2024 and advises the networks’ investors and provides guidance to start-ups throughout the funding process, including early stage, growth and exit.
Corporate partner at Gordons, Amy Pierechod, commented: “Our firm has a strong track record of supporting innovative entrepreneurs, and we’re excited to bring our legal expertise to this mission.
“Championing female founders and investors aligns perfectly with our values and our belief in inclusive economic growth.”
Jordan Dargue, co-founder of Lifted Ventures, commented: “To truly close the gender funding gap, we must support both sides of the investment equation – female founders and female funders. This partnership gives us the scale, expertise, and shared mission to do just that.”
Helen Oldham, co-founder of Lifted Ventures, added: “The underrepresentation of women in investment is a systemic issue, and we’re proud to be working with partners who are committed to long-term change. Together, we’re not only backing brilliant women-led businesses, we’re building a new generation of women investors.”
