How does GSCOP affect a food supplier’s contract?

In a recent article for Business Inspired Growth, Solicitor Mark Jones discusses how the Groceries Supply Code of Practice (GSCOP) affects a food supplier’s contract when trading with the top retailers such as Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Aldi, Lidl and others. He suggests that the GSCOP is helpful to suppliers because obligations and restrictions from retailers cannot be avoided and are imposed by the law. Mark believes that suppliers should look at negotiations with these retailers as an opportunity to level the playing field and find certainty in the trading agreement.
