Gordons charity double

Thursday 3rd December 2015

Gordons have been busy raising money and supporting members of our chosen charity of the year, Willow Young Carers.

On Thursday 26 November, Gordons held a Pizza Making Party at Pizza Express in Leeds. The aim was to get the young people involved in something different and to give them a night off from the stresses they face in their daily lives.

Rebecca D’Arcy, Catherine Woodward and Victoria Davey joined in with 17 young carers who all had a great time making their favourite pizzas, before sitting down to enjoy their creations.

Victoria Davey said “We were delighted to have the opportunity to take a group of young carers out for the evening and to give them a break from their routine.  Everyone had a great time, even if it did get a little messy!”

On Sunday 29 November, Gordons’ staff joined over 1,600 Santa Clauses for The Great Skipton Santa Fun Run. The 5km route around the canal and streets was organised by The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven which aims to raise money for a number of charities including Sue Ryder Manorlands, Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA), Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The conditions were far from pleasant but despite the wind and rain, the Gordons staff completed the course – unfortunately the same cannot be said about the Santa costumes!

Graeme Davy, Rachel Thompson, Claire Loftus, Jenna Keough, Rebecca D’Arcy, Bryony Russell, Chelsea McKenna, Sophie Wilson and Victoria Davey participated from Gordons.
