Gordons Celebrated for Raising the Bar at The Chamber of Commerce Awards

Friday 15th December 2017

Gordons has been recognised with a prestigious education award at West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce’s 2017 Raising the Bar awards.

The award recognises the firm’s pioneering, multi-award-winning apprenticeship scheme, which launched in 2011, and its commitment to encouraging social mobility within the legal profession.

The presentation of the award follows the scheme’s first graduates, Bryony Russell and Megan Bolidson. Both qualified as chartered legal executives in 2017, with Bryony specialising in employment law and Megan working in the private client team.

Victoria Davey, Partner at Gordons, said: “The apprenticeship scheme has been a resounding success and we are all very proud to receive such prestigious recognition for it. This latest award is further testament to the positive way in which the scheme is being received and we look forward to its future successes.”

The Raising the Bar awards are part of a wider initiative by The West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce to help businesses achieve their social responsibility objectives. Winners were chosen for work undertaken in their local communities through charitable works or initiatives to develop and invest in young people through partnerships with academic institutions or providing apprenticeships and training courses.
