Gordons Advises on Sale of Leading Plant Hire Business

Gordons has advised the shareholders of Chippindale Plant on its sale to AER Rents, part of the O’Flaherty Holdings group in Ireland.
Chippindale Plant is the leading independent provider of construction equipment for hire and sale in the North of England,
Gordons’ corporate partner Jonathan Asquez led a multi-disciplinary team from the firm advising on the legal aspects of the sale.
The team comprised corporate solicitor Lisa Murphy, corporate legal executive Lauren Wurzel, commercial property partner James Kimberley and employment solicitor Alexandra Byrne. Corporate finance advice was provided by Will Arnold of Sentio Partners.
Chippindale Plant provides a complete hire and sales service for plant, tools, attachments and site accommodation throughout the entire North of England and beyond.
Operating from its head office in Leeds it has eight strategically placed depots in Leeds, Catterick, Huddersfield, Keighley, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield and York, employing 120 staff.
This latest acquisition significantly strengthens AER Rents UK presence, allowing the group to offer a widened range of products and services to its customers.
This includes the option to purchase new equipment through Chippindale’s dealership agreements with Volvo, Bomag, Mecalac, Epiroc, Atlas Copco, Stihl & Belle Group.
