Gordons has advised La Redoute on the sale of its 380,000 sq ft distribution centre in Wakefield to leading logistics company Torque.  In partnership, Torque will now help the retailer to improve its logistics services.

La Redoute is the leading e-commerce business for women’s wear in France and one of Europe’s largest fashion mail-order brands.

With this latest addition, Torque will now operate five distribution centres in Yorkshire, employing 800 people. This new purchase is integral to the company’s growth strategy and is also a great opportunity to create jobs in the area.

The deal was advised by Commercial Property partner Simon Mydlowski with assistance from Employment partner Philip Paget.
