Four award wins for Yorkshire law firm Gordons

Yorkshire law firm Gordons is celebrating after winning no fewer than four prestigious awards in a fortnight.
The Firm won Property Law Firm of the Year category in the Yorkshire Property Industry Awards and The Private client team has won two awards in as many weeks, winning Private Client Team of the year at the Yorkshire Lawyer Awards and UK and Ireland Regional Team of the Year in the STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Private Client Awards. Finally, Paul Ayre was named Managing Partner of the Year in the Yorkshire Lawyer Awards.
Paul commented: “I’m delighted the firm has taken so many coveted awards in so short a time. It’s particularly pleasing that our commercial property team has been recognised and that our private client team has been acknowledged twice from two independent sources.”

Gordons announced in April that it had grown for an eleventh successive year, despite the generally challenging economic climate, its turnover increasing by eight per cent to £25.3m during 12 months.
The firm’s private client team is the largest outside London and now contains a specialist charities and education unit.
Gordons’ commercial property team is one of the biggest in Yorkshire. It has particular expertise in retail and development with fully integrated construction, planning and environmental specialists.
The latest accolades follow recognition for Gordons earlier in 2012, as the organisation was shortlisted in the Regional Law Firm of the Year category of the awards organised by leading sector publication The Lawyer. Decisions are also awaited after the firm was shortlisted in two categories of the Law Society Excellence and Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards, and one section of the British Legal Awards.
