County Court money claims up by 13% in July to September quarter – due to the new protocol?

Friday 29th December 2017

The Ministry of Justice published its quarterly stats this month which showed a 13% increase in the number of county court money claims being issued in July to September 2017.  It’s also the second highest quarterly number of claims issued since 2006.   I put the increase down to creditors pushing claims through prior to the implementation of the pre-action protocol in October 2017.  It will be interesting to see this quarter’s stats when they are published next year.  I expect a significant drop in the number of claims aided by creditors following the protocol.
