Gordons advises AO on logistics and distribution warehouse letting
Wednesday 20th May 2026
Gordons has advised the UK’s most trusted electricals retailer, AO, on a 323,876 sq ft warehouse letting in Alsager, near Crewe, to support the continued growth of its logistics and distribution network.
Located close to the M6 and with access to junctions 16 and 17, the warehouse will operate as a stock warehouse, further enhancing AO’s logistics operations and fuel its growth plans.
Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Bolton, AO has been a Gordons client since 2018. A team led by commercial property partner Sarah Ratcliffe and commercial property lawyer Sophie Mason advised AO on all aspects of the letting.
This latest letting follows a trading update by AO World for the 12 months to 31 March 2026 which reported adjusted profit before tax is expected to be at the top end of £45-£50m. In addition, total group revenue growth is anticipated to be about 11 per cent.
Commenting on the letting, David Ashwell, managing director, AO Logistics, said: “This facility at Alsager will play an important role in supporting AO’s continued growth strategy.
“The building’s scale and excellent motorway access make it a strong operational fit with our North West warehouse space, as we continue to optimise our logistics network.”
The refurbished warehouse includes 11 dock loading doors, eight level loading doors, a large concrete service yard, 32 car parking spaces, a gatehouse, hub office, central warehouse heating and solar panels.
Gordons’ Sophie Mason added: “This was a time-critical transaction, so we were very pleased to help AO secure the site at pace.
“The warehouse is a substantial logistics facility which is ideally located and has excellent connectivity. It provides AO with further high-quality space to support its expanding distribution network and growth plans.”
