Your company and people with significant control
Wednesday 23rd March 2016
The new Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act (the Act) has introduced a number of changes to the law relating to companies. This legislation aims to ensure that members of the public can establish who ultimately owns and/or controls a company.
The most significant change introduced by the Act is the requirement for all UK companies (with some exceptions) to maintain a register of people or entities with significant control (PSC).
This requirement comes into force on 6 April 2016 which means that, to comply, companies need to take reasonable steps now to determine who is a PSC.
