A team of Yorkshire-based funders and advisors have supported the MBO of Leicestershire-based JPD Contracts.

Managing director John Evans has become sole shareholder of the business following the retirement of chairman John Beckingham.

A team of Leeds-based advisors and funders have supported the deal, including Rob Burton from Mazars while funding has been provided by The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and RBS Invoice Finance (RBSIF) represented by Stuart Watson and Matthew White respectively.

Legal advice came from Paul Johnson and Sandip Khroud from Irwin Mitchell in Leeds and Jonathan Asquez from Gordons. Squires Sanders advised the bank.

Based in Coalville, JPD Contracts (UK) was formed in January 2003 by John Beckingham with the sole purpose of supplying and installing kitchen appliances to builders and developers, and now has a turnover of £10m.

Rob Burton, corporate finance director at Mazars, said: “JPD Contracts (UK) is a quality business we have worked with for a number of years. They have a well deserved reputation and impressive customer list. I have enjoyed working with the company to support them in this next phase of its development and will continue to work with John Evans as he drives forward its future success.”
