Crime and Policing Act 2026 comes into force June 29
Tuesday 16th June 2026
The Crime and Policing Act will come into force at the end of this month, widening the scope of criminal corporate liability and leaving organisations open to prosecution where a member of senior management commits any criminal offence and the conduct occurs within the actual or apparent scope of their role.
There is no specific defence within the Act, therefore it is important that organisations review significant roles that relate to a substantial part of the activity of that organisation and ensure that risk assessments and policies are effective.
