The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) investigated the experience of customers buying tickets for gigs and sports events via the company’s website.
The CMA found that between April and December 2025, some customers were required to pay mandatory costs including delivery and service fees. Unavoidable fees were added at the final stage of the checkout process and constituted the prohibited practice of drip pricing’.
The company was fined £900,000 by the CMA and was ordered to issue refunds to over 50,000 customers. Affected customers do not need to apply for a refund, the company is wholly responsible for the administrative refund exercise. The average payout will be around £10 per transaction.
The company admitted its guilt and agreed to settle early with the CMA. The company has since taken immediate steps to stop the use of drip pricing on its website and has cooperated the CMA throughout its investigation.
