ASA and CAP Publish 2025 Annual Report

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Committees of Advertising Practice (CAP) has published its annual report for 2025 highlighting its key actions, progress and results. Key features from the report include: 

  • Nearly 60 million online ads were scanned by the ASA’s active ad monitoring system; 
  • Over 40,000 complaints were resolved about 25,000 ads by ASA 
  • ASA amended or removed over 22,000 ads 
  • Out of 50,000 ads analysed, nearly 1 in 4 posts on Instagram were ads, and 1 in 6 posts on TikTok were ads. Of these ads, 34% did not disclose they were ads. 
  • CAP delivered nearly 600,000 pieces of advice and training to UK businesses.
