Stamp Duty Shake-Up for First Time Buyers

In the Budget, the Chancellor has announced a Stamp Duty shake-up aimed at first time buyers.
For transactions completing on or after 22 November 2017, first time buyers will pay no stamp duty on house purchases up to £300,000 and 5% on any part of the purchase price between £300,001 and £500,000. As ever there is small print to consider but HMRC has produced a guidance note to help buyers work out if they are eligible:
