Leeds and Bradford law firm Gordons has added to the strength and depth of its service offering with the appointment of Wayne Parker, formerly restructuring partner with Pinsent Masons.

In his new role, Wayne will work within the firm’s corporate and litigation teams providing a range of turnaround services including corporate restructuring, rescues, recoveries and administrations.

Originally from Leeds and with 30 years’ experience in his field, Wayne is regarded as one of Yorkshire’s leading insolvency lawyers.

Commenting on his appointment as insolvency partner, Wayne said: “With 39 partners, 300 staff, a turnover in excess of £21m and a rapidly growing reputation, working for Gordons is an extremely exciting prospect for me.

“I’m very much looking forward to being part of the Gordons’ team and helping to build this new turnaround and restructuring service. Working locally with my established contacts in the region, I can help Gordons continue to provide services to the SME marketplace, while also developing the firm’s existing contacts and institutional clients.”

John Holden, head of corporate at Gordons, said: “Wayne is an excellent restructuring lawyer with an outstanding reputation. Having Wayne helping to drive the new insolvency practice will be a great asset for Gordons.”

Commenting on Wayne’s move, Stephen Miles, head of banking and finance at Pinsent Masons, said: “Wayne’s move to Gordon’s is a great opportunity for him to build on his experience. We wish him well in this new phase of his career.”
