Connor specialises in construction law and advises on all aspects of a project from the initial contract negotiations to resolving any disputes that may arise.

Connor acts for parties from across the sector, including main contractors, specialist sub-contractors, developers and lenders utilising industry standard forms as well as drafting bespoke appointments and contracts. He has advised on projects related to large residential developments, hotels, industrial and retail parks/units, car showrooms, hospitals, telecoms and civil engineering works. Connor frequently resolves disputes through adjudications, the Courts, and other forms of ADR, such as mediation.

Connor has particular experience in advising on delay and disruption, defective work and ‘smash and grab’ claims. His recent experience has included:

  • A successful £6m delay claim through a lengthy set of adjudication and court enforcement proceedings
  • A £5m court claim against a water undertaker for negligent misstatement, which was settled following mediation
  • Advising on various projects and claims related to fire safety defects, including Remediation Contribution Order claims
  • Acting for claimants and defendants in cases relating to negligent asbestos removal
  • Successfully bringing and defending a number of notified sum (‘smash and grab’) adjudications
  • Advising telecommunications and engineering consultants on projects involving the installation of new fibre optic broadband infrastructure
  • Advising the lender funding the construction of a series of care homes

Connor has also appeared as a guest on industry podcasts and is a member of the Leeds Technology & Construction Court User Group.
