Migrant Minimum Salary

From April next year, migrants from outside the EEA must earn £35,000 or more after 6 years work to be able to stay in the UK.

The Royal College of Nursing say that 3365 nurses will be affected and the decision could impact patient care.

It is an example of a decision not being properly thought through. If they’d set a minimum remuneration level, instead of minimum salary cap, there wouldn’t have been a problem because of the high value of the NHS Pension.
