Two Leeds-based teams of advisers have hit their usual top gear to help a leading Northampton-based motor dealer acquire an Oxfordshire counterpart.
Experts from Yorkshire law firm Gordons and leading accountants and business advisers BDO assisted William Morgan Group, owner of Northampton’s Wollaston Motors, an operator of approved BMW and Mini franchises. The company acquired North Oxford Garage, which has dealerships in the city and six miles away in Long Hanborough, specialising in BMWs and Minis respectively.
William Le Fevre, managing director, William Morgan Group, said: “We’re very grateful to the teams from Gordons and BDO for the part they played in allowing us to make this key acquisition. They co-operated excellently and showed themselves to be experts in their fields, as well as proactive and able to move at speed.”
Wollaston Motors, which has a history extending over 35 years, and North Oxford Garage, the only approved BMW dealer in its county, sell new and approved vehicles and provide servicing, parts and accessories.
James Fawcett, partner in Gordons’ corporate department, who led the firm’s team working on the deal, said: “We were very excited to have helped William Morgan Group expand its operations into a new geographical area. This is an important strategic move for the business and we certainly wish it every success as it begins trading in its expanded form.”
James Barraclough, director, BDO, said the move by William Morgan Group showed its confidence in its overall offering, including its customer service.
He added: “This acquisition underlines William Morgan Group’s commitment to building a substantial dealership business across the UK. By focusing on customer service whilst offering market-leading products, we are sure that success is guaranteed.”
