Owning a leasehold property is becoming a more commonplace investment to a lot of buyers in today’s property market. However, a lease is a wasting asset and as the term of years on the lease decreases the market value of the property will consequently diminish. An astute buyer will want to ensure that the unexpired lease term is sufficient for future marketability of the property, and a lease extension is most often a necessity rather than a luxury.
This seminar will provide an understanding of the process of applying for a statutory or negotiated lease extension and provide practical guidance on what is required.
