Law firm Gordons is Yorkshire’s most active corporate legal advisor

Law firm Gordons has been revealed as Yorkshire’s most active corporate legal advisor during the first quarter of 2014, according to a report published by global financial information company Experian.

The firm acted on a total of nine reported deals during the quarter, including the merger of the Bradford and Leeds, York & North Yorkshire Chambers of Commerce, as well as the MBO of kitchen appliance business JPD Contracts.

Gordons was also listed as the fourteenth most active law firm in the UK, ahead of several national and City firms.

Commenting on the report, Gordons’ head of corporate, James Fawcett, said: “We have had a very positive start to the year, which is indicative of the continued resurgence of Yorkshire’s economy.

“There is undoubtedly an increasing sense of belief amongst businesses throughout the region. Our view is that the Yorkshire market will continue to grow in confidence and activity throughout the year.”
