Yorkshire law firm Gordons has announced the appointment of six new trainee solicitors after recently reporting a record turnover of £22m for the last financial year. This latest figure consolidates Gordons’ position as one of the UK’s top 100 legal practices.

The appointments represent the firm’s annual trainee intake at its Leeds and Bradford offices and the new recruits will join Gordons’ existing teams in business recovery and restructuring, personal injury, commercial property, commercial litigation and risk and compliance.

Gordons’ training partner and head of employment, Philip Paget, said: “As we continue to grow it is essential that we ensure our trainee intake provides us with talented and ambitious individuals. This year’s six new trainees demonstrated that they have a great deal of potential during the interview process and we are looking forward to developing them over the next two years.”

The trainees and their respective first departments at Gordons are Elliot Jackson, business recovery and restructuring; Graham Peycke, personal injury; Laura Foley; commercial property, Sallyanne Veitch, commercial property, Sophie McKelvey, commercial litigation and Jonathan Smith, risk and compliance.
