Yorkshire law firm Gordons has advised the UK’s leading supplier of fish and seafood, Young’s Seafood Limited, on the commercial licensing agreements for the use of family bread brand Kingsmill’s® logo on its new product range.

The deal sees a new range of 100% cod and haddock products, made with Kingsmill® breadcrumbs for a fresh-baked taste, added to the Young’s portfolio.

Gordons corporate partner Peter Barton advised Young’s in respect of drafting and advising on licensing agreements for use of the Kingsmill® brand name on packaging and advertising of the new range of products.

Peter said: “It was a pleasure working with Young’s on this deal, which brings together two well-known brands, to deliver a range of products that will provide a high level of quality and nutritional value to customers.”

An established Yorkshire law firm with offices in Leeds and Bradford, Gordons currently employs 240 people, 180 of which are fee earners. The firm’s turnover for the last financial year was £22m and it is one of the UK’s Top 100 practices.

Natasha Gladman, marketing director at Young’s Seafood Limited, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with Kingsmill® on our 100% cod and haddock fillets, made with Kingsmill® breadcrumbs for a fresh-baked taste. This exciting project is part of our ongoing brand strategy to deliver delicious, exciting and high quality fish products.  Gordons did an excellent job in advising us through the licensing agreement process and have played an important part in supporting the delivery of our strategy.”

Young’s 4 Large Cod Fillets in Kingsmill® breadcrumb (500g) and 4 Large Haddock Fillets in Kingsmill® breadcrumb (500g) are available in shops now.  The products can be seen in Young’s Seafood Limited’s £3.5m ad campaign, fronted by folk singers the Port Isaac’s Fisherman’s Friends, which features the famous Young’s song ‘When the Boat Comes In.’
