Law firm Gordons advises Bradford Cylinders on sale of premises
Thursday 1st March 2007
Bradford and Leeds-based law firm Gordons has successfully advised hydraulic cylinder manufacturer Bradford Cylinders on the sale of its Allerton Road site to property developers McDermott Developments.
The specialist engineering firm – which has been based at the Soho Works on Allerton Road for over a century – will relocate to new premises at Norwood Green, Wyke, in June 2007 whilst its former site will be redeveloped for residential property by the purchaser.
David Stocks, managing director of Bradford Cylinders, commented: “The relocation is a hugely significant moment in the company’s history. These are exciting times for Bradford Cylinders as our new premises will provide us with the ideal platform for further developing the business in line with increasing industry demands.
“A complete relocation like this is a significant challenge to undertake, so it was important that our lawyers enabled the transaction to run smoothly. The sound advice and high service levels that we received from Gordons meant that the process was efficiently managed from start to finish.”
In addition to advising on the sale, Gordons also assisted in completing Section 106 agreement terms with Bradford City Council which helped grant planning permission for future development of the site.
Paul Young, commercial property partner at Gordons, said: “Bradford Cylinders benefits from a strong management team, and the decision to relocate the business shows the desire that they have to continue to develop the company.
“We are very pleased to have been able to work with them to achieve their objectives in relation to the site at the Soho Works, and look forward to seeing it play a significant part in the regeneration of the area when it is re-developed.”
