Yeomans Outdoor Leisure has bucked the trend in the retail sector by launching seven new outlets since the beginning of this year, and a total of 14 in the past 12 months. The Chesterfield-based retailer’s new retail outlets secured include units in Hull, Peterborough, Lincoln, Morpeth, Evesham and Bideford, Nuneaton and Nottingham.

Established in 1904, Yeomans Outdoor Leisure is the UK’s largest independent camping and outdoor retailer. The company employs over 300 people and now has over 70 retail outlets ranging from high-street stores to large factory outlets.

Stuart Greenwood, chief executive of Yeomans Outdoor Leisure, said: “Our controlled growth strategy is the result of a period of careful planning to identify key areas of opportunity for the business across the country.”

Yeomans Outdoor Leisure was advised on its leases by solicitor, Joanne Fearnley. Commenting on the store openings, Joanne said: “This is a great example of a company with a clear growth strategy and strong management team securing opportunities for further expansion, despite turbulence in the retail sector.

“With the demand for outdoor leisure goods on the increase due to social, economic and environmental factors, Yeomans Outdoor Leisure is now ideally placed to benefit from its expanded network of retail outlets.”
