Gordons has advised one of the UK’s largest privately owned motor retailers and long-term client, JCT600, on its acquisition of two Jaguar and Land Rover businesses in South Yorkshire.

Adding to the Bradford-headquartered company’s portfolio of prestigious car brands, JCT600 has purchased the Doncaster Jaguar and Doncaster Land Rover dealerships from Pendragon, owner of Stratstone.

Gordons’ partner and head of corporate, James Fawcett, led on the deal, working alongside commercial property partner, Nick Chamberlain, and corporate trainee solicitor, Andrew Moore.

With 20 leading car brands across 52 locations throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and the North, JCT600 employs more than 2,250 people across the region. It recently announced record sales with turnover reaching £1.251bn.

Commenting on the deal, James said: “JCT600 is a great Yorkshire success story. This deal will add two prestigious brands to its portfolio for the first time, and will enable the business to build on its success in Doncaster and the wider region.”
