Law firm Gordons has advised the owners of Hessle Fork Trucks on its sale to CorpAcq.

CorpAcq is an investment group based in Altrincham which invests in successful businesses within the plant hire and sales and building sectors. It has acquired 100 per cent of Hessle Fork Trucks for an undisclosed sum that will see CorpAcq’s annual group turnover approach £70m.

Gordons’ corporate partner Peter Barton advised Hessle’s shareholders on the sale.

Commenting on the sale, Peter Rumgay, the owner of Hessle Fork Trucks, said: “Gordons provided an exceptional level of service and worked closely with us to ensure the smooth transaction of the sale. We look forward to working with the team at CorpAcq continue to deliver the high standards that our customers have come to expect.”

Established in 1968, Hessle supplies earth-moving equipment and is the largest dedicated Manitou forklift truck dealer in the country. Before the acquisition, it was also the largest independently owned hirer of rough terrain handling equipment in the UK.

Commenting on the deal, Peter Barton said: “Hessle Fork Trucks is an extremely successful company and we were very pleased to be able to help the owners achieve its sale to CorpAcq. We are sure the business will continue to prosper under the new ownership as the two are an excellent fit.”
