Yorkshire law firm Gordons has advised Bradford-based wholesaler Narang Group on the purchase of a new distribution warehouse in Cockermouth, Cumbria, for its Beer Express business which specialises in the supply of wines, spirits and beers to restaurants throughout the UK.

The 4,660 sq ft unit at Derwent Mills Commercial Park has been purchased to enable the company’s ambitious expansion plans providing it with purpose built facilities and fast access to the M6 for Narang Group’s fleet of delivery vehicles.

Gordons commercial property solicitor Simon Mydlowski advised Narang Group on all aspects of the transaction and secured the unit on a long leasehold basis for the company.

Jas Narang, director, Narang Group, said: “Our Beer Express business has been going from strength-to-strength and it was clear to us that we had to find a new distribution centre so we could maintain our rate of growth.

“Simon worked closely with us to ensure that the purchase of the lease was done quickly and efficiently whilst giving us clear advice on how to maximise the benefit from the deal. We are now looking forward to implementing Beer Express’s next phase of expansion.”

Established over 30 years ago, The Narang Group has its headquarters on City Road and has interests as diverse as textiles, electrical & plumbing and bathrooms.

Simon Mydlowski commented: “Purchasing the lease on this new distribution centre will unlock more commercial opportunity for Beer Express and strengthen its offer within the marketplace. We are sure the business will continue to grow and we are very pleased to have played our part in its ongoing development.”
