Employment Tribunal Statistics

Statistics published this month by the Ministry of Justice show that the number of single claims lodged in employment tribunals between April and June 2014 were down by 70% on the same quarter last year. Further, the number of single claims lodged between April and June 2014 was a third lower than in the quarter between January and March 2014. That said, the ACAS Early Conciliation Scheme was introduced on 6 April 2014 and became mandatory on 6 May so some claims which would otherwise have been lodged in June may not have been lodged until July. Or maybe the claims were settled through ACAS. We will find out when the next quarterly statistics are published.
