On 28 January 2025 the Solicitors Regulation Authority (‘SRA’) intervened into the practice of E A Harris & Co of Transport House, 54 Chester Road East, Shotton, CH5 1QA and The Cross, Padeswood Road, Buckley, CH7 2JL (‘E A Harris & Co’).

What does this mean?

If you were a client of E A Harris & Co, they can no longer act for you. You will need to find a new solicitor to act. Gordons are not acting for you. If you need help finding a new solicitor you can search for a new solicitor on the Law Society’s Find a Solicitor site, or you can call the Law Society on 020 7320 5650 Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00.

How do I get my file?

All ongoing files for which we received a file request form have been released. All remaining files have been collected and taken to the SRA for storage. You can request your file by contacting the SRA’s archives team at iaf@sra.org.uk or 0204 525 0250.

What about deeds/wills/Lasting Powers of Attorneys (LPAs)/other original documents held at E A Harris & Co?

What has happened to old/archived files?

If you believe E A Harris & Co were holding money for you, you may be able to apply to the SRA Compensation Fund.
