Commercial Contracts Lawyer (3-5 years PQE)
Full Time/Leeds (with hybrid available following probation)
About the role:
We are seeking an accomplished and commercially minded solicitor to join our thriving Commercial team at Gordons. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with three to five years’ post-qualification experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility, develop client relationships, and contribute to a team that has delivered sustained growth over recent years.
You will advise a diverse client base, ranging from ambitious SMEs to household-name national and international brands on a broad spectrum of commercial matters. Our Commercial practice encompasses general commercial contracts, IT and intellectual property, and privacy and data protection, giving you the opportunity to continue to develop expertise across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including supply, purchase and distribution contracts, outsourcing arrangements, media and marketing contracts, and technology agreements. You will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to clients on day-to-day business issues, and strategic projects. You will also be expected to lead client matters with increasing autonomy, develop your own client relationships, and mentor and develop junior members of the team.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have three to five years’ PQE in commercial law. You will have demonstrable experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, together with the ability to deliver clear, solution-oriented advice. Experience with IT-related matters such as SaaS agreements, software licensing, and systems integration is highly desirable. Above all, you will possess a proactive, can-do attitude and a genuine appetite for business development.
