Brexit could mean less safe and nutritious produce, report warns

Exiting the European Union presents serious risks to businesses and workers in the food sector, a briefing paper has stated as it warns of a future of “less safe and nutritious products.”

“Increasing inflation, a shortage of labour and increased cost of imports due to potential tariffs mean that food is inevitably going to be far more expensive in the post-Brexit era.”
