Leeds Barristers Chambers’ move is less of a trial, thanks to Yorkshire law firm Gordons

A leading Leeds set of barristers’ chambers has moved to a prestigious new location with the assistance of Yorkshire law firm Gordons.

Broadway House Chambers now occupy a prominent suite on the ground floor of 1, City Square, after being located in the city’s Park Square for 13 years.

Simon Mydlowski, a solicitor in Gordons’ commercial property department, advised Broadway House on the agreement for lease, lease and license for alterations at its new home, in addition to the break of its old lease.

David Jones, head of chambers, said: “Before this project, Simon advised us on our former lease and the recent renewal of our commitment to our other offices in Bank Street, Bradford. We therefore had every confidence we were in safe hands.

“This belief was vindicated, despite Simon having a very tight deadline for a task which involved not only contributing himself but liaising with others, such as the agents and our new landlord Aviva too. He has delivered again and we’re grateful for his important contribution to a successful relocation.”

The chambers now operate from a building at the heart of Leeds’ commercial district, directly opposite the city’s railway station, with a glass atrium stretching its entire 11 floors.

Established in 1926, Broadway House is one of the north’s leading sets of chambers. Boasting more than 50 barristers, it is listed as a top-ranked set on the North Eastern Circuit by leading sector directory the Legal 500 UK. Disciplines covered by its barristers include criminal, family, employment, civil and immigration law.
