Gordons advises Azets on sale of Henry Nuttall business

Gordons has advised insolvency practitioners at Azets, acting as joint administrators of fryer manufacturer Henry Nuttall Limited (“Henry Nuttall”), on the sale of the business and certain assets to HN Ranges, through the RGM Leeds Group.

Henry Nuttall is a long-established manufacturer of frying ranges supplied to fish and chip shops and hospitality businesses across the UK. Founded in 1865, the company traces its roots back to Rochdale and operates from a manufacturing facility in Dinnington, Sheffield.

A team led by partner Jonathan Jackson, and comprising lawyer Rachel Thompson and trainee lawyer Gabriela Maclean, advised Azets on the deal.

The transaction completed as a going-concern sale, with all jobs transferring to the buyer, supporting continuity for customers and day-to-day operations. The sale also preserves a longstanding UK manufacturing business serving the hospitality sector.

Jonathan Jackson said, “Administration sales require a careful balance between speed and diligence. Working closely with the team at Azets, we were able to secure an outcome that safeguards jobs and ensures continuity for the Henry Nuttall business and its customers. It is rewarding to see a heritage British manufacturer with over 150 years of history continue trading under new ownership.”
