Haulage operator has licence revoked following compliance shortcomings

Friday 28th November 2025

A haulage firm has had its operator licence revoked and been disqualified from operating for 12 months following widespread compliance failings identified during a DVSA assessment.

The investigation revealed extensive failings, including a lack of tachograph analysis, unaccounted mileage, failure to carry out safety inspections at required intervals, and no evidence of driver entitlement checks. The company also relied heavily on “self-employed” or “limited company” drivers, operated an unauthorised vehicle, exceeded its operating centre capacity, and lacked sufficient financial standing.

The Deputy Commissioner concluded that the operator lacked professional competence, financial standing and good repute, and also removed the good repute of the transport manager for failing to fulfil his responsibilities.

The company and its director were disqualified from holding an operator licence until 10 November 2026, while the transport manager was disqualified from acting in that role until 4 November 2026. The Deputy Commissioner stated that both parties may only return to the industry once they have demonstrated a proper understanding of their regulatory obligations.
