Planning and Environmental
The Planning team deals with every aspect of planning law from negotiating general development agreements to taking matters through to appeal at public inquiry. The team has a developer led focus and routinely advises on planning conditions, planning obligations and highway matters to secure the best possible planning permission in both terms of value and ease of implementation. The team solves complex planning problems on a daily basis and has a commercial and pragmatic approach to addressing planning issues. We have a proven track record in successfully defending judicial review proceedings and work closely with our litigation colleagues to secure planning permissions.
We have extensive knowledge of enforcement proceedings and are extremely experienced with local government procedural matters. In addition to this, advice is always available on more niche areas of planning law such as dealing with tree preservation matters and town and village green applications.
We advise everyone from retailers, developers, commercial and industrial organisations, renewable energy developers, to public authorities and private individuals.
We also work closely with our colleagues on contaminated land issues waste management and regulatory matters in a development context including reviewing Environmental Assessments compiled under the EIA regulations.
