Our History
2011
In September 2011 Gordons LLP launched GAP, the first apprenticeship scheme in the legal profession. The annual programme will recruit and train a fresh intake of five 17-18 year olds who might not otherwise have the opportunity to embark on a legal career.
2010
In 2010 Gordons LLP celebrated its 10 anniversary in Leeds, a decade which has seen turnover grow by £22m. Gordons LLP also opened a London office in response to the increasing number of national and international clients instructing the firm.
2009
In the face of economic uncertainty Gordons LLP continued to grow throughout 2009. An independent market research project undertaken with clients and intermediaries also showed that 100% of clients surveyed would use us again.
2008
In 2008 Gordons LLP became one of the UK's top 100 law firms for the first time. Ranked at 98 by the leading industry publication The Lawyer.
2007
In June 2007 Gordons completed the acquisition of David Yablon as part of our ongoing controlled growth strategy. The move further demonstrates our commitment to developing the business in Bradford.
2006
Awarded top Yorkshire performer in The Lawyer's "Fast rising 50" survey.
2005
Short-listed for the Regional Law Firm of the Year 2005
2004
Merger with Nelson & Co strengthens position in Leeds, introducing a large personal-law offering to complement the existing commercial capabilities. Niche firm of the Year 2004
2003
The firm drops the name Cranswick, to become Gordons.
2000
First presence in Leeds established with the merger of Gordons Wright and Wright, and Cranswick Watson, creating Gordons Cranswick.
1844 - 1999
Mergers and steady growth results in the practice opening three offices in the Bradford district.
