Aquasentry acquires civil infrastructure company

An environmental pollution control company has made a significant acquisition to create a new division.

Aquasentry, based in Birstall, West Yorkshire, has bought the Huddersfield branch of Total Environment Services (TES) for an undisclosed sum.

Now called Aquasentry Environmental Solutions, the new division will provide below ground civil infrastructure work to enable a more comprehensive service to customers.

Aquasentry manufactures, supplies and installs leading pollution prevention and spill control technologies, as well as providing ongoing product servicing and training to help businesses and the public sector meet environmental guidelines and responsibilities.

Managing director Rob Staines, who bought Aquasentry three years ago, said the latest acquisition demonstrated the company’s commitment to becoming the UK leader in its field.

“We see our growth being with large businesses and organisations, and we identified that our ability to provide in-house civil work would be key to us gaining a greater market share throughout the UK,” he said.

“We were already subcontracting to TES and saw the potential of bringing it under the Aquasentry brand and utilising the expertise of the highly-knowledgeable engineers who have the ability to help us achieve our ambitions. We can now provide all the civil infrastructure work in addition to manufacturing the monitoring products and providing training and support.

“The acquisition will no doubt help us to widen and strengthen our customer base as well as providing even better levels of customer care.”

The deal, which was carried out by Gordons Solicitors in Leeds, transferred all 10 jobs to Aquasentry, nearly doubling the size of the company, which now employs a total of 24. The 28-year-old business has seen steady growth under the ownership of Rob Staines, which he attributes to focusing on quality of products and service, and helping customers to navigate a myriad legislation while remaining commercially effective.

He said: “We are operating in a rapidly developing market due to transformations in technology and the sophisticated environmental legislation landscape.

“The acquisition of TES puts us in a stronger position to assist our customers to implement systems that make environmental and commercial sense while providing a seamless service.”

Aquasentry, based at Gelderd Road, Birstall, works for customers throughout the UK in sectors that include construction, fuel manufacture and distribution, chemicals, utilities, and brewing.
