Joanne Hall is a Barrister and Head of Gordons' regulatory department.
Joanne has over 11 years experience in regulatory and criminal law. Her particular area of expertise lies in criminal investigation and prosecution, particularly in relation to fraud, corruption and cartel activity. She has wide experience of dealing with law enforcement and regulators both in England and Wales and overseas having practised at the criminal bar for 5 years before working for two large national practices in London.
Joanne's key, and quite unique, experience comes from the fact that she has also worked for the Serious Fraud Office and the Financial Services Authority dealing with their most complex investigations.
Joanne specialises in the conduct of international and domestic corporate investigations and defending criminal/regulatory investigations and prosecutions for fraud, financial crime and financial services regulation (e.g. SFO, FSA, HMRC, BIS, CPS). She has acted for many listed companies including FTSE 100 companies and individuals/directors. She secured the first acquittal for insider dealing in a FSA prosecution (R v Andrew King (2010)).
