John Brien is a Tax Adviser in Gordons' private client department.
John deals with most aspects of personal law work, specialising in lifetime succession planning including advising on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trust structures and providing advice to trustees on their duties and trust administration. John is also involved in drafting complex wills for High Net Worth clients.
John provides advice to business owners, entrepreneurs and clients with significant investments as to the most appropriate way of passing wealth to the next generations in a flexible, tax efficient manner. He acts for some of the region's wealthiest individuals and their families plus large family trusts (onshore and offshore), including private charitable foundations.
John joined Gordons in 2006 having trained with a 'Big 4' accountancy firm. John is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CTA).
