Alistair Maiden is a solicitor in Gordons' corporate and commercial contracts departments.
Alistair specialises in:
- Supply chain management
- Agreements for the sale and purchase of goods and services
- Agreements for the supply of temporary and permanent staff
- Data protection rules and regulations
- e-commerce
- Information technology.
He also has considerable experience of providing group and one-to-one commercial contracts training.
Alistair advises a broad range of clients including; Morrisons, Morphy Richards, myHermes, Congregational and General Insurance and Fuse8.
Alistair trained at a commercial practice in Leeds where he worked on matters for the Barclays Premier League and a number of high profile football transfers including that of Theo Walcott from Southampton to Arsenal.
On qualification Alistair moved to Skipton Information Group where he focused on data protection and e-commerce and information technology.
On moving to Gordons in January 2008, Alistair began to undertake a broader range of work including supply chain management and agreements for the sale and purchase of goods and services. Notable recent work includes:
- Drafting myHermes.co.uk’s terms and conditions of supply
- Production of a suite of plain English procurement contracts for Morrisons
- Negotiating Morrisons’ trading terms with Unilever, Coca Cola, GlaxoSmithKline and other major suppliers
- Negotiating an agreement between fuse8 and Persimmon Homes for the supply of Persimmon’s website
In January 2010, Alistair undertook a 6 month secondment with Morrisons and has since been retained to undertake Morrisons’ commercial contract work.
Alistair has had a number of articles on commercial contract law published for Emerald Insight including most recently, articles on consumer returns and buying software.
