Tim Ratcliffe is a Partner in Gordons' corporate department.
Tim is one of the most experienced corporate lawyers in Bradford and West Yorkshire. He specialises in corporate and commercial advice to a wide range of clients, particularly in supporting senior managers in the owner-managed, family-owned and professional sectors, and also including subsidiaries of international groups.
Amongst his clients are Emerald Group Publishing and national haulage company Reed Boardall.
A particular area of specialisation is a wide range of advice to the publicly-funded and voluntary sector, which includes the structure and use of non-distributing companies, particularly in education, where companies limited by guarantee are used, for instance by charities, free schools and academies.
He has advised a wide range of publicly-funded organisations in Bradford, through his connections as a former board member of the Chamber of Commerce.
He has experience of chairing charities. He is a governor of a Bradford independent school and has been a governor of a Bradford academy.
He is actively involved in Gordons LLP’s corporate social responsibility and pro bono programme. Tim is legal advisor to, and past board member of, the Bradford Chamber of Commerce as well as a member of the First Tier Tax Tribunal and is an assistant deputy Coroner in Bradford Kirklees and Calderdale. He was awarded an MBE in the 2004 New Years Honours List for services to community relations in Bradford.
