John is a partner in the regulation, risk and compliance department and specialises in the regulation and professional conduct of solicitors.

He undertakes regulatory work on behalf of the Solicitors Regulation Authority ('SRA'), acting as the SRA's agent when it closes down solicitors' practices. On the SRA's behalf, he also investigates allegations of professional misconduct and claims on the SRA's Compensation Fund.

John is a Panel Solicitor for the SRA and in this role investigates complex or sensitive reports of solicitors' professional misconduct.

He has advised solicitors on issues relating to the professional service they give their clients. He has also undertaken work on behalf of the Serious Organised Crime Agency and regional police authorities, giving evidence about solicitors' professional conduct in Crown Court prosecutions.
