John Holden is Senior Partner at Gordons and a partner in the corporate department. He is a member of the firm's Executive Committee.

John has worked at Gordons for more than 20 years having previously worked for 6 years at a magic circle firm in the City of London. He was brought up in deepest Shropshire and studied Modern history at Oxford before converting to the law at the College of Law in Chester.
 
John has overseen the growth of the corporate department at Gordons from being the only lawyer in 1988 to more than 20 fee earners today. John is primarily a corporate lawyer and he deals with a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. 

Increasingly his skills are being called on as a trusted business adviser to individuals who run successful businesses on a broader range of matters. He is the firm's principal contact with a number of key clients including Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc, having helped the company with its acquisition of Safeway and the integration process that followed.
