Steve Hawkins, Partner

Steve Hawkins is a Partner and Head of Gordons planning department.

He undertakes all aspects of planning and environmental work including advice on options, contracts, development and JV agreements. Steve is an experienced advocate at planning inquiries.

Steve has significant experience in development plan representations, planning and infrastructure agreements, compulsory purchase and compensation and legal project management of major development projects.

Steve has acted for a wide range of organisations including Persimmon, Barratt, Bloor, Orion, ABP, Pure Urban, Total Lindsey Oil Refinery, Ideal Standard, WM Jackson & Son Limited, Fenner and Cranswick.

Steve successfully obtained renewal of planning permission for one of the largest Greenfield developments in the north of England at Kingswood Hull and has undertaken the development work for the New Hull Truck Theatre. He is currently advising West Yorkshire Fire Authority on compulsory purchase powers.

Steve is a member of the Law Society Planning Panel and UK Environmental Law Association. The Chambers 2008 Legal Directory rates him as one of the top planning solicitors in the region describing him as "a star in advocacy with a wealth of experience and great legal knowledge".
