Peter Barton, Partner
Peter Barton is a Partner in Gordons' corporate department.
Peter has a wealth of experience in dealing with both corporate and commercial work.
He has wide experience in dealing with the acquisition and disposal of companies and businesses and other corporate transactions such as the admission of companies to trading on AIM, shareholders agreements and joint ventures.
Recent Experience
- Advising the management team of Lumison in relation to their investment in a new company funded by Bridgepoint Development Capital formed to acquire Lumison.
- Advising AIM quoted Brulines on a placing with institutional investors to raise approximately £4.7 million before expenses.
- Advising Gateway Plaza Limited on the sale of the Gateway Plaza Development to Barnsley Council.
Peter also leads the corporate department’s commercial team and has extensive experience advising on all types of contracts including long term supply arrangements, outsourcing agreements and agency and distribution arrangements. Peter was also involved in the privatisation of the East Coast Mainline which involved some highly complex and, at that time, innovative contractual arrangements between the various parties. Peter has also advised clients on combined heat and power projects.
Peter’s clients include high profile businesses such as Hermes Parcelnet (part of the Otto Group) and members of the Glen Dimplex Group such as Roberts Radio, Morphy Richards and Belling.

- Advising Morphy Richards on supply arrangements.
- Advising Hermes Parcelnet on its customer documentation.
- Advising Gleadell Agriculture, the largest independent grain trader in the UK, on contractual arrangements relating to the operation of its new facility at the port of Great Yarmouth.
